Centerbacks

CB. FC Schalke 04. OZAN KABAK. 4.6. Tremendous on the ball. Gets forward like a midfielder but defends with such composure. Did have a few iffy moments, both in distribution, in his positioning, in tracking runs. Perhaps a bit rusty coming off his injury. Got turned by Timo Werner too easily on that second goal. Does seem to learn from his mistakes quite well, though, and never gets beaten the same way twice.

4.7. Handled the chaos better in this match than he did against Bayern Munich. Not that the scoreline reflects it much. That said, it was rarely his mistakes that led to goals. He was actually very solid and reliable. It’s not his fault if his teammates can’t close down in the midfield or keep their men marked on runs. Doesn’t take away from the defense failing as a whole, but Nastasic was the least responsible.. CB. FC Schalke 04. MATIJA NASTASIC
