Fullbacks

RB. FC Schalke 04. JONJOE KENNY. 3.9. Awful, awful defending. Had the energy to keep up with the tempo of the match, but it didn’t do him much good. Struggled to handle the opposing attack, highlighted by when he let Timo Werner get in behind him far too easily for the second goal and a horrid whiff on the fourth goal. You can’t defend like that.

4.5. Great work combining with the attacking players to find space on that left-hand side. Had his hands full getting back on defense after extending himself in those attacking positions, but he was far from the worst offender, and there were a lot. That said, he was completely undone on the third goal, failing to defend his man on the corner and didn’t track the run on the fifth goal either.. LB. FC Schalke 04. BASTIAN OCIPKA
