Offering the player a lump-sum payment or a salary increase may be a viable solution to secure his stay, but it will also add to the costs for the already debt-ridden Schalke. Therefore, this decision must be made cautiously, weighing the long-term benefits against the immediate costs.

For Ouédraogo, the decision is also monumental. He must consider what is best for the development of his career. Staying at Schalke can offer him the opportunity to grow and shine in a familiar environment, but a move to a top-level club can open doors for a successful international career.

However, there is one aspect that cannot be overlooked: loyalty. At a time when soccer often seems to be driven by money, Ouédraogo’s decision can also be a statement of commitment and dedication to Schalke 04, the club that shaped him as a player.

Schalke 04 must proceed carefully, thinking about the financial and sporting implications of their actions. And, in turn, Ouédraogo must reflect deeply on what is most important for his career and his heart. Ultimately, this is a story that highlights the challenges that clubs and players face in a competitive transfer market, where the balance between financial interests and sporting aspirations is crucial.
