I mean, what do we really expect David Wagner to do with his two striker set? Do we expect him to pick the only two strikers who look capable of scoring a goal, or do we expect him to pick the two guys who don’t?
Unfortunately, these are the questions we must ask ourselves. Michael Gregoritsch got the start against Augsburg and he fought hard on the pitch, but it didn’t work out for him. I’m going optimistic in saying that he will get benched for Benito Raman, who remains our highest scoring striker on the year.
Who starts next to him? Great question. And the answer probably isn’t what we want it to be, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it will be. Ahmed Kutucu gets the start for the first time in history.
I figure that, the more I predict him here, the more voodoo juju flows into Wagner’s head. Eventually, he will be overcome with waves of influence pushing him to start Kutucu.
