3. Nick Taitague
Probably the biggest stretch of the list, but there are a lot of things that lead me to believe that Nick Taitague could be on deck for some major exposure. Assuming, of course, that he can remain healthy and not lose out on more of his career to the operating table.
More from Release The Knappen
- Schalke 04: Arkadiusz Milik would take everything, but he’s worth it
- Schalke 04: Ozan Kabak makes Jean-Claire Todibo pass quietly
- Schalke 04: Omar Mascarell the only boost between now and then
- Schalke 04: David Wagner just has to make it to the end of the season
- Schalke 04: At least we still have Weston McKennie
Taitague just signed a new contract with the club despite playing very little in the youth ranks due to injury. That says that he is impressing a lot of people in the right way because it’s a risk to give a new injury to a guy that just can’t stay on the pitch.
If there was even the slightest hesitation that injuries weren’t the primary concern, they would just let him go and focus on someone else. Why bother? But they didn’t. They didn’t hesitate to give him a new deal.
Taitague crucially plays in the attack, where we have a severe deficiency, and in the name of lightening the load on Amine Harit, the 21-year-old Taitague is at the point in his career when I think he’d love some of the load.
Next up, No. 2.
