Fullbacks

FC Schalke 04. TIMO BECKER. 6.1. Composed and reliable in the early bits of his Bundesliga debut. Started to fade as the match went on. Had a few blips, but nothing that would render him not ready for this level of competition. Completely outmatched on the duel that would end up providing Paderborn’s equalizer.. RB

FC Schalke 04. BASTIAN OCIPKA. 7.9. Once he got into the game, he completely changed it. Had a few iffy moments in the early going, but as always, offset that with positivity. Wish he could have gotten more involved in the attack in the early going since his delivery is so reliable and since we saw, later on, how fantastic his attacking is. When he did get involved in the attack, he showed incredible dribbling and it paid off when he set up Ahmed Kutucu for the long-awaited opening goal.. LB
