Defense

In the name of rotation, I do think we will see some changes here. Even though our last match was way back on Friday. Defensively, we still have a lot to be excited about, and biggest of all is the likely starting debut of Jean-Clair Todibo. He came on for all of a minute against Hertha on Friday, but this is the chance we’ve been waiting for to see how ready he is in the here and now.

Todibo was used as a rightback-ish against Hertha. That should change assuming Jonjoe Kenny is healthy enough to get back into his position. Todibo will likely see himself slotted into the center of the defense next to Ozan Kabak. These two encompass what figures to be the future of this defense, if everything goes accordingly, and it’s never too late to get started on the future.

Elsewhere, I would expect to see Juan Miranda get another shot at leftback. Honestly, I didn’t think he was that bad when he took over briefly in light of Bastian Oczipka having to play centerback. And it’s about time we figure out just how useful he can be.

All in all, a young defense, three loanees that we would like to see if we can/should buy, and the ever-exciting and infallible Ozan Kabak. Works for me.

Midfield coming up next.
