Midfield

8.1. Man of the Match. He’s just so good. He thrives sinking deep between the two centerbacks to help sweep up opposing attacks before springing forward. There’s very little he doesn’t do. He’s tidy with the ball, he plays the smart passes and he isn’t afraid to get forward either. I don’t think he ever takes a poor touch. He’s always right where you need him to be. He covers more ground and touches the ball more than anyone else. What more can you ask?. CDM. FC Schalke 04. OMAR MASCARELL

LM. FC Schalke 04. SUAT SERDAR. 6.6. So many times you could feel like he was about to break through, but he just couldn’t get the final push. When he leads a counter, you pay attention, same as with Amine Harit. Problem is, he doesn’t do it nearly as often as Harit does. As such, his involvement waxes and wanes and it can be frustrating, knowing he’s there but not seeing his presence. Wasn’t helped by the injury late on in the match and you hate to see him leave a match in pain.

7.7. He was everywhere. It’s like he felt he had to win back his starting role all in one start and as we know, Weston McKennie is always up for a challenge. He was rock solid in defense and incredibly energetic getting forward. Aerially, no one attacks the ball like him. He didn’t even touch the ball a lot, but boy did he influence it. Great work tracking back and covering. Good luck keeping him out of the side now.. RM. FC Schalke 04. WESTON MCKENNIE
