Attack
Everything that I said about the midfield and the defense, about how neutered they were against Bayern Munich, also applies to this attack. To match what I said about Suat Serdar, I think the only guy more disappointing was Michael Gregoritsch. He looked completely exposed and out of his element.
But I cut him more slack, since it was only his second match.
Still, we have to see more from him. If nothing else, just more effort. I’m not sure he even broke a sweat against Bayern. Sure, we brought him to provide more of a threat to goal, but if that isn’t happening, you have to do more.
Anyway, like Serdar, expect Gregoritsch to bounce back in this one. Especially because Benito Raman is back. The hero of recent times. His immediate connection with Gregoritsch was obvious and beautiful against Monchengladbach, now I want to see that back in action against Hertha Berlin.
And lastly, of course, Amine Harit will be back in the fold. He actually looked remarkably composed against Bayern, though that faded later when the game got really out of hand.
This is a deadly front three that can do a lot of damage. Now let’s see it.
