Schalke 04: Amine Harit’s return is crucial against Bayern Munich

Schalke 04 will be happy to have their star man back in action…

FC Schalke 04 come up against Bayern Munich away from home this weekend in a match which could prove to be important later in the season. Just three points separate the sides and should Schalke pull through with three points, they will go level on points but behind Bayern on goal difference.

One man who will be important to Schalke in their quest for three points is Amine Harit. Schalke’s star performer unfortunately missed the last match against Borussia Monchengladbach. The club’s official Twitter account sent out a tweet which fans of Die Knappen, in which they claimed Harit has returned from injury.

Harit has been Schalke’s best performer this season with six goals and four assists. His performances have been well-rounded and he was sorely missed against Monchengladbach, although Michael Gregoritsch did cover the cracks well in his debut as he scored a goal and an assist.

Against Bayern, Harit will be keen to start for his side following his recent injury and he will be eager to make amends for his absence.

Harit is very good in tight spaces, which is why I think he will greatly benefit David Wagner in this match. Bayern are a very defensively compact team, as Schalke experienced in their 3-0 loss earlier in the season. That said, Schalke need a composed player who is good in tight scenarios.

This is exactly what Harit offers as he plays with great aplomb despite his age. He often finds himself being bombarded with pressure but nine times out of ten, he manages to get away with the ball at his feet. He is a good dribbler of the ball and he has a lot of spatial awareness, meaning he will be the one to excel against this organised Bayern Munich defence.

Fans of Schalke will be eager to see a goal come from Harit on his return to action but he will provide plenty to the side otherwise. As Schalke will probably play on the counter-attack, his pace and close control of the ball will enable him to shine and, more importantly, introduce his teammates to the match.
