1. Benito Raman

Doubling up on what I mentioned in the last slide. While I want to have complete faith in this defense, with how battered it is, I would rather invest my faith in the attack. The attack is far healthier and populated by far more guys that I just know will do their part.

Benito Raman is currently on the fence of graduating from being a key guy because he’s become so reliable. He scores every time he starts. That makes it pretty easy to just expect him to continue to do so and not count him on this “he better perform” list. Because he just will.

That said, I was really optimistic that he would give us a cushion against Wolfsburg after coming on as a sub and that didn’t happen, which shook my faith in him just slightly enough that I still have to worry a tad bit if he’s going to be the influential player we need him to be.

Don’t get me wrong, he doesn’t have to score goals to be what we need him to be. He just has to provide that angle to the attack that we weren’t getting with Uth and Burgstaller. As long as he provides that threat, we are going to score just fine, whether it comes off his foot or not.

That’s my take. Who are your key guys in this one?
