FC Schalke 04 held on for a 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 15 despite a red card for Alexander Nubel.

David Wagner’s side had to overcome more in-game crises in their 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. FC Schalke 04 lost Weston McKennie, who was starting at center back again for an injured Matija Nastasic, to a dislocated shoulder in the first 15 minutes. And in the second half, Alexander Nubel was red carded for one of the worst challenges you’ll ever see.

Yet Schalke were able to hold on for a 1-0 victory, courtesy of an early second-half goal from Benito Raman, assisted by star man Amine Harit. The Royal Blues were pushed by Frankfurt at the Veltins Arena, but they sent the fired-up fans home happy. Better yet, they maintained their grip on the fourth and final Champions League spot in the Bundesliga table ahead of fellow Matchday 15 victors Bayern Munich.

Here are five things we learned from Die Knappen’s latest win.

1. The Harit, Raman connection is incredible

Amine Harit now has five assists in the 2019-2020 Bundesliga campaign, while Benito Raman has scored four goals in his last four games. Raman has been consistent with his scoring, too, finding the back of the net in each of these games.

On this goal, Harit led the counterattack by picking up the ball while charging forward in midfield. He held onto the ball just long enough, feeding Raman to his left. And Raman made no mistake with his finish, placing the ball perfectly with his left foot.

Raman and Harit celebrated together with a hug after the goal, and Raman pointed at Harit as the two rejoiced with the Schalke fans. These two stars are clearly on the same wavelength, and every Bundesliga defense needs to fear their increasingly telepathic connection. Raman has been the answer to Wagner’s prayers in the attack, while Harit continues to stake his claim as the best player in the entire league.
