FC Schalke 04 have a budding attacking partnership between Amine Harit and Benito Raman, and both men worked together to score the Royal Blues’ first goal on Matchday 15.

Eintracht Frankfurt are in the midst of a disappointing 2019-2020 campaign, but FC Schalke 04 knew they would be in for a tough battle at the Veltins Arena against the Europa League-quality side. After outplaying the Eagles in the first half, the Royal Blues found a breakthrough goal early in the second half.

Schalke’s goal was courtesy of a counterattack assist from Amine Harit, who has been so decisive in these situations. He scooped up the ball while charging into the heart of Frankfurt’s final third, took the right touch towards the center, and stayed on the ball just long enough to spring Benito Raman on his left.

Harit sent a perfectly-waited pass to his left at Raman, who made no mistake with a wonderful, low, left-footed finish into the far corner of the net.

Raman’s 53rd-minute goal against Eintracht Frankfurt is his fourth in four games, as he’s scored in each of his last four matches for the Royal Blues. The Belgium international has been a breakout star since returning from injury, and he is solving Schalke’s goal-scoring issues.

Meanwhile, the assists are continuing to pile up for Harit, who now has a legitimate scoring option to feed in the Royal Blues’ attack. This assist is Harit’s fifth of the season, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he finished the campaign with more than double that assist total, especially if a young forward like Rabbi Matondo or Ahmed Kutucu can emerge alongside Raman.

Right now, Schalke have a true dynamic duo in Harit and Raman, and their celebration alone is a sign of their chemistry. Harit and Raman trust each other, and Harit knows exactly how to get the ball to Raman, whose finishing has been a real boost to David Wagner’s side.
