FC Schalke 04 extend superstar Amine Harit through 2024

Amine Harit has scored six goals with four assists through 14 Matchdays in the 2019-2020, so trying to get an extension done with the midfielder was a no-brainer for FC Schalke 04.

Heading into Sunday’s game against Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Schalke 04 are fourth in the league table and have a real shot at qualifying for the Champions League this season. Amine Harit has been at the heart of everything good for the Royal Blues, especially in the attack.

Schalke have a breakout performer at forward in Benito Raman, but especially when the Royal Blues were struggling to find any sort of production up top, Harit proved to be indispensable. Whenever Schalke needed a goal, Harit could come up with the goods, and his wonder-strike to lift Die Knappen to a win over Mainz will forever live in the hearts of fans.

After rumors strongly indicated that Harit and Schalke would agree to an extension, the team has officially announced a new deal for the star man which will last through June 30, 2024.

It’s a massive deal for Schalke, as Harit was at risk of leaving for a big club like Liverpool or FC Barcelona for only a modest (compared to his actual worth) fee.

Only 22 years old, Harit is one of the Bundesliga’s best players and has been the league’s biggest breakout star this season. His dribbling skills, vision, technical quality, off-ball movement, work rate, pressing, and football IQ are all tremendous. Harit is the full package in the attacking midfield, and he makes Schalke tick.

The extension either guarantees Harit will be a star with the team for an additional three seasons, or the Royal Blues will actually get fair value from a big club if someone like Barca or Liverpool decided to come knocking for the Morocco international.

Harit is a special player who has already provided fans at the Veltins Arena with memorable moments, and he’ll continue to be instrumental in 2019-2020 as Schalke make a real push to win the Bundesliga title.
