FC Schalke 04 center attacking midfielder Amine Harit has been one of Europe’s biggest breakout stars, but it looks like he plans on staying in Gelsenkirchen for a few more years.

Amine Harit has scored six goals and assisted four in 2019-2020 thus far for the Royal Blues, making him one of the Bundesliga’s most valuable players. FC Schalke 04 are still sitting in a Champions League spot despite their 2-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen over the weekend in an incredibly tight Bundesliga title race.

As a result of his incredible performances this year, Harit has received interest from two of the world’s top clubs in Liverpool and FC Barcelona. Liverpool, in particular, would be a great fit for Harit, given their need for an attacking midfielder and Jurgen Klopp’s ability to bring the best out of underrated Bundesliga stars.

But it looks like Harit isn’t going anywhere. Or, at least, if a team like Liverpool wants to pry Harit away from Die Knappen, they’ll have to pay a premium price.

Per a report from Fussballtransfers, via BuLiNews.com, Harit has signed a new deal with the Royal Blues after previously being on an expiring contract.

There have been multiple reports indicating that a deal has been close to completion.

It’s a no-brainer move for Schalke, since Amine Harit is the team’s best player. He has been a perfect fit for David Wagner’s system, pressing defenders into mistakes, dropping deep into midfield to be Schalke’s creative outlet, providing more goals than anyone else when the club lacked a scoring forward, and making clutch plays in the final 10 minutes.

Alexander Nubel expected to stay with Schalke. dark. Next

Alexander Nubel should be next to sign an extension with Schalke, though his situation is a little bit more murky. But if Manuel Neuer signs a new deal with Bayern Munich, then Nubel is all but guaranteed to sign a deal that would see him remain in Gelsenkirchen for a few more years.
