Suat Serdar and Ozan Kabak have been monumental, and you could argue that Matija Nastasic and Amine Harit and even Daniel Caligirui … and Omar Mascarell. Hell, this whole club is full of key players at the moment. But no one has done more than Benito Raman in so short a time.

That’s the thing. He hasn’t just given a boost to the club, he’s changed the entire face of this attack. He has brought in a new element that’s been lacking for years. That speed over the top, the finishing ability; the fact that he’s a striker who can actually score goals! It makes him invaluable. but he’s not just a fox in the box. He’s a creator and a dribbler. He’s so sure-footed with the ball and rarely loses possession. He’s hardly taken a poor step.

It’s impossible not to see Raman as the chief difference maker when he’s taking over for the scoreless duo of Mark Uth and Guido Bugstaller. This attack was in desperation and Raman not only filled it, he made it a strength.

So yeah, that makes him the most important player on the club at the moment. And I hope that doesn’t change any time soon.
