FC Schalke 04 picked up a 2-1 win over Werder Bremen on Matchday 12, and here were the top five individual performances from an impressive collective effort.

After only getting one point out of their Matchday 11 matchup against rivals Fortuna Dusseldorf at the Veltins Arena, FC Schalke 04 knew they needed to pick up all three points against Werder Bremen, who have struggled in 2019-2020.

Schalke took care of business on the road, winning 2-1 behind goals from Amine Harit and Benito Raman. Werder made things interesting with a goal in the final 10 minutes, but, for the most part, Schalke roundly outplayed their Matchday 12 opponents.

Here were the top five individual performances from the victory, which pushed the Royal Blues to fifth place behind Freiburg.

FW Benito Raman

Belgian forward Benito Raman has been a breakout star since returning from injury, and the summer signing has helped ease concerns about Schalke’s attacking firepower. Talented attacking midfielder Amine Harit has desperately needed someone to link up with, and Raman has the pace and explosiveness to be that option.

Raman’s hard work in the attacking third has paid dividends. Before the break, he has his best Bundesliga performance in a Schalke shirt, setting up a goal for Daniel Caligiuri and nearly assisting Harit for another.

He was even better on Matchday 12, scoring a goal after assisting Harit for Schalke’s first goal of the night. Raman has become must-see, and he is clearly a part of the future for the Royal Blues.
