CM Suat Serdar

Suat Serdar has been one of the big breakout stars for Schalke this season, and he’s a huge reason why the Royal Blues are favorites to grab a Europa League spot in this bounce-back campaign.

In all honesty, Serdar has been just as big of a standout as fellow midfielders Amine Harit and Omar Mascarell, and with Weston McKennie in the mix, Schalke have one of the Bundesliga’s best and most well-rounded midfielders.

And Serdar is the most well-rounded of the four men. He has been one of the Bundesliga’s top players in terms of WhoScored.com ratings, filling up the stat sheet in just about every way imaginable. He is second on the team behind Harit with three goals, is second on the team behind Benjamin Stambouli with three tackles per game, is second behind Harit in dribbles completed per contest, and completes over 82% of his passes.

Augsburg’s midfield looks ripe for domination by Serdar, who is blossoming into one of Germany’s best box-to-box midfielders. Serdar is untouchable when he’s in form, and he has the technical quality to score key goals for Schalke. Don’t be surprised if he finds the back of the net for the fourth time this season on Sunday, as even Daniel Baier and Rani Khedira will have their hands full against the 22-year-old.
