2. Amine Harit
Always. Literally always. Amine Harit has become the centerpiece of this FC Schalke team all over again after suffering last year with the rest of his teammates. Nowadays, Harit leads the club in just about everything. So as long as he can stay healthy (fingers crossed), he will continue to be the inspiration that this attack needs to get through opposing defenses.
More from Release The Knappen
- Schalke 04: Arkadiusz Milik would take everything, but he’s worth it
- Schalke 04: Ozan Kabak makes Jean-Claire Todibo pass quietly
- Schalke 04: Omar Mascarell the only boost between now and then
- Schalke 04: David Wagner just has to make it to the end of the season
- Schalke 04: At least we still have Weston McKennie
The problem that Harit often runs into is needing someone to finish off attacking moves. Harit himself has a suave finish in his back pocket, but he can’t be relied upon to be our top goal scorer, even though he currently is.
A creator is only as good as the strikers he feeds, and right now, Harit is having to serve in both roles. Which just ramps up his value to the club and his importance in every single match. The fact that this is a Revierderby does nothing to his key status. It just puts a bigger spotlight on him, a spotlight that he should be used to at this point.
Dortmund have proven to be an incredibly susceptible defense, so Harit should find plenty of joy driving into their teeth and doing the things that he does so well. So get ready to see him shred some black and yellow.
And while we’re on the topic of shredding. Let’s get to No. 1.
